These screws have standard coarse threads and a tip that can cut its own threads into metal. The tip cuts threads into metal similar to how a tap cuts threads. A pre-drilled hole is required for installation.
Type 1: Single narrow cutting edge
Type 23: Single cutting edge with a wide cavity for added chip clearing capability
Type F: Multiple cutting edges for heavier gage metal
